Pique-assiette: Just what is pique assiette mosaic? The short answer is that pique assiette is a style of mosaic that incorporates pieces of broken ceramics - plates, dishes, cups, tiles - and other found objects into the design. qualia Everything - matter, energy, you name it - comes from curvatures, patterns and other properties originating at the Planck scale. If consciousness does have some fundamental, irreducible precursor it must originate as some sort of pattern at the same basic level of the universe. Philosophers call the raw components of conscious experience qualia. We're suggesting that qualia are specific patterns or properties at the Planck scale. Why not? If there's something fundamental and irreducible about consciousness or its precursors, as Spinoza and Whitehead said, then it has to exist somewhere. The Planck scale is all there is.

Ariadne's Thread and the Labyrinth in Classical Mythology----Ariadne's thread, named for the legend of Ariadne, is the term used to describe the solving of a problem with multiple apparent means of proceeding - such as a physical maze, a logic puzzle, or an ethical dilemma - through an exhaustive application of logic to all available routes. It is the particular method used that is able to follow completely through to trace steps or take point by point a series of found truths in a contingent, ordered search that reaches a desired end position. This process can take the form of a mental record, a physical marking, or even a philosophical debate; it is the process itself that assumes the name.-----Ariadne, in the Greek version the daughter of Minos, fell in love with Theseus and helped him get out of the labyrinth by giving him a ball of thread, allowing him to retrace his path------Ariadne's Thread in the Hand of Karlheinz Essl--------The Triumph of Adriadne--------Arianna, figlia di Monosse e quindi sorella, per via di madre, del Minotauro; s'innamorò dell'eroe ateniese Teseo che uccise il mostro per liberare la città di Atene da un sanguinoso tributo umano impostole da Minosse. Fu grazie all'innamorata fanciulla che l'eroe poté uscire dal labirinto nel quale aveva ucciso l'uomo-bestia che vi era imprigionato, dipanando verso l'uscita un gomitolo di filo (il filo d'Arianna).
My first encounter with these mazes was around 1982, when the labyrinthologist Jean-Louis Bourgeois showed me the maze game. He told me this game is widespread in the folk cultures of Asia; it is extremely old, since this very same design occurs on Cretan coins of the 4th-5th century BC, where it symbolizes the Labyrinth in which the Minotaur was kept. (In fact, there are much earlier examples) The legend has it that Theseus found his way out of the Labyrinth by following a thread he had unwound from a spool given to him by his sweetheart Ariadne, and so a line drawn so as to trace the path through a maze like this is often called ``Ariadne's thread.''

Although most think of voodoo dolls as a tool for use in harmful magic, there are many beneficial outcomes for use of the voodoo doll, healing, prosperity, even love.
These dolls are created to address a specific area that a person desires to heal, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. The intention of the healing is placed in the doll in her inner body using stones, charms, hair from the person being healed, and other objects that represent the intention. The doll itself is a manifestation of the healing intention through color, fabric, beads, etc. The dolls are inspired by the Divine Feminine and Mother Mary. They are powerful tools for healing physical illness for they carry the affirmation that one is already healed and whole.
This Spirit Doll represents the Sabbath Bride, which is proclaimed by the words Shabbat Shalom in blue on a field of crystal beads accented with gold.

Tatting is an ancient needlecraft dating back for centuries. Practiced in the Far East and Europe. It is made with one or more shuttles or a shuttle and a ball. The shuttle with a sharp blade-like "pick" at one end is the most practical type. This pick is used to draw the thread thorough a picot when joinings are made. If you use a shuttle without a pick, it will be necessary to use a pin or crochet hook each time to pull the thread through in joining, which will slow up your work. The ends of the shuttle should be tight enough that the thread will not unwind if the shuttle is dropped.
